Cycle 1000km across Poland for Polish hospices, 14-22 June 2014
CYCLE POLAND 2014: 14 - 22 June
Take on the challenge and cycle 1000km to support people with terminal illnesses and their families
Our fifth annual ride will cross the whole country, starting in Szczecin in the far north, taking in rural villages and finishing in historic Krakow.
You can find more information and a registration form here: https://www.alinafoundation.org/cycle-poland-2014.html. If you have any questions, please email us (info@alinafoundation.org).
Cycling 80 – 130km per day for nine days is a great challenge, but within reach for any amateur cyclist. Our only requirement is that all participants are able to cycle 40km in 2 hours on flat tarmac. For those new to cycling, or who want to train with others, we run a full programme of UK based training rides before the trip.
The ride is run on an entirely not-for-profit basis by experienced volunteers. All funds raised go to support palliative care throughout Poland.

- Cycle 1000km in 9 days
- The ride is fully supported and guided – so no carrying heavy packs or reading maps
- No minimum sponsorship
- This ride is unique as it gives you the opportunity to visit the hospices that will receive equipment funded by the money you raise, and meet staff and patients in person.
- Experience the history and bustle of the old Polish capital of Krakow, stay in atmospheric rural villages, and experience authentic Polish food and hospitality along the way
- Cycle with a team of Polish and international riders, joined by local volunteers and cyclists at the start and finish, creating a great sense of community
