Biking across the United States
I'm currently looking for sponsors for my trip across the country with a (501)(c)3non-profit organization called Bike & Build. All of the donations are tax-deductible and the money is disbursed to affordable housing organizations across the U.S. I am very excited to bike while making a difference and spreading awareness about affordable housing.
Here is my profile:

and my blog where I will post photos and stories from across the country:

Thanks!

Nicole,
Kudos for your effort to raise money and awareness for this worthy cause.
Your bike training of riding 500 miles before your trip and only one 62 mile 'metric century' is optimistic at best. Being an Ohio person myself, and having attended Ohio State back in the '70s, there are numerous warm-up rides in Central Ohio in the Spring, quite a few organized Centuries (100 miles) starting in mid March through April and, of course, TOSRV on Mothers' Day weekend - 210 miles in two days, Columbus to Portsmouth and back along SR104. I digress.
You are going to need more saddle time than 'only' 500 miles before setting out on a 3500-mile ride! I suggest you get a bicycle trainer so you can train your cycling muscles indoors all Winter long. Back when I was at OSU I had used old-school rollers. Not only did I get the workout, but balancing on the rollers also teaches a smooth pedaling technique which will make the miles slip by easier. As a cross-country runner, no doubt you have refined your running technique to a fluid motion as well for the same reason!
Anyway, as soon as my budget recovers from this past Christmas, I'd be happy to donate to your cause.
Good luck!

Thank you! I have been dreaming about doing Bike & Build for almost two years.
Yes, they do 500 as a minimum, but I am already beginning to workout on the stationary bike during the winter. My winter hours do not count towards the 500 miles (The 500 miles have to be during the spring and actually biking outside). I have considered getting a bicycle trainer. Have any suggestions of brands?
I have participated in Pedal to the Point (Bike MS), 150 miles in 2 days (Brunswick to Sandusky and back the following day). I wish I could do it this summer, but biking across the country has interfered with those dates. I have heard great things about TOSRV! I almost did it last year.
I really appreciate your input! It will be a lot of hard work and words cannot even begin to describe how excited I am.
Thank you so much for even considering to donating! It truthfully means so much to me!

When you state activities and rewards, are you saying my personal hobbies and things that I have done that are rewarding, or rewards for donating?
Although I have not gone into full depth on each, I still mention both on my profiles. However, I'd like to hear your opinion on what could be added to potential gain more sponsors.
Thank you!

I will be riding P2P (MS150 Pedal to the Point) this year. I've done it in the past - the last time was five years ago - as well as TASSLE (Tour Along the South Shore of Lake Erie) that went from Lakewood (west Cleveland suburb) to Toledo and back - back in the early eighties with my youngest sister.
