Just three more days!
I have to say the anticipation is killing me! I'm not getting as much done at work as usual (should I really be typing that from here?)
I've now managed to get that errant tent pole fixed. Apparently the place in Southport where I took it had a major fight with the manufacturer over replacing it (evidently the manufacturer forgot to send it, and didn't seem to perturbed about a customer waiting). Somehow I managed to save $8, which might be handy given that I overspent a little on christmas shopping.
I've also now received the Tasmanian National Parks pass. Evidently they charge entry fees to every national park down there, but for $13 I've managed to pick up a pass that gives me entry to every park in the state while I'm down there. They also sent me a little guidebook about 60 short walks (for short read anything up to 6-8 hours) in Tasmania. Should give me something to do on the two "rest days" I have planned at Coles Bay and Cradle Mountain.
I've also now made all the intended replacements on the bike (i.e. cables & brakepads) so now I'm all set. I just found out that my CPA results are released on Friday night, and I'm flying out from Brisbane on Saturday morning. They might have to wait on that one. Nothing is going to interfere with this!
Oh yeah, one more thing, I'm still tinkering with the route - does that help to pass the time?

Seriously, you are already gone. I don't know why you are still at work!
Have fun with your trip (as though I have to tell you to do that!) and let us know how things are going. If you see any Tasmanian devils, get me a picture. I love seeing those devils around.
Take care!

Have a grand ride Chris! Is there anywhere in mapquest or mapblast where we might see your route?

In answer to a couple of questions. Koffee, if I see any of the devils down there I'll grab a picture. I'll be uploading photos when I get back. I could possibly upload a few on the road, but I don't want to spend that much time in front of computers.
Gojohnnygo, yes, midsummer snowfalls are quite possible down there. Actually, I think it would be kind of unique to ride in summer snow without having ever ridden in winter snow!
Gus, I did photoshop a planned route to a map a couple of weeks back, but I've since tinkered with it a little - and the tinkering may not be over yet.
