It's named after a scary looking hill in Italy. Bike Touring Passo Stelvio Riding the Climb from Prato dello Stelvio It's got the same frame tubing sticker that my 1982 Centurion Elite has. It was probably made in Japan. Are there any numbers on the bottom bracket or seat tube? Seat tube numbers would make it a Kuwahara.

Looks to be a real nice mid level Japanese bike from the early 80's the bike was likely made by one of the better builders Kuwahara, Panasonic and Bridgestone come to mind they all made similar frames. With a serial number and location there is a good chance someone here can ID how actually built it. I would say value is around $250-300 the lesser known branding will hold price down some in most markets.

Those are pictures of the seat post, the seat tube is what that came out of.

Mid & upper level Japanese bikes from certain time periods absolutely match Italian bikes. Things in Japan really hit a peak right around the mid 1980's. My favorite high end Japanese bike from that time is the Shogun Samurai. Soon after the 80's it became too expensive to produce bicycles in Japan. That's when everything moved to Taiwan and got boring.
