Opinions on this bike?

Hi everyone,

First time poster, but have used these forums as reference in the past and I really trust everyone's opinions here.

I'm in the market for a new road bike and are looking at the second hand market to get some good bang for my buck. I was looking at this bike and was wondering if you could share your thoughts on whether you think this is a good bike at a reasonable price. Please keep in mind that price is in $CAD, which also eliminates me from buying from bikesdirect.com, so I'm kind of stuck with overpriced LBS options or kijiji/craigslist finds.

Here is the listing: Mid to Late 80's Cannondale Racing Bike - 24" frame

Here's the listing text below as well. It's priced at $360 CAD.
For sale is a beautiful vintage Cannondale racing bike. 60cm 24" aluminum frame.
Suitable for a rider 5'11" to 6'2"

700c Wolber Super Champion Alpine Aluminum Rims
Shimano 105 hubs
Brand New Tubes
Brand New Turbo Pro puncture resistant tires
Brand New Bar Tape
Brand New Chain
Burgundy suede saddle
Shimano 600 brake calipers
Shimano 600 crankset
Shimano 600 rear derailleur
Cyclone brazed on front derailleur
Suntour shifters
dia compe brake levers
Cannondale branded aluminum handle bars
Nitto stem
Kyokuto Top-Run aluminum pedals with cages
Tange head set

All in all a fantastic bike,
Cleaned up, tuned up and ready to ride
Thoughts?

It looks well overhauled but I would be asking whether the bearings have been regreased. Given the work done it might be a fair price in Toronto but around here I don't think it would sell for that much. I'd be thinking more like $250.

Looks like a well maintained bike and it looks in very nice shape.

I think it is a little high though, given the mix of group components. Had it been all Shimano 600 Arabesque, I'd be tempted to pull the trigger at that price if it's a bike I had to have.

I might be wrong, but I think these aluminum Cannondale's can be rough riders...

I found both of the Cannondales, Cann 1 and Cann 2, to offer very harsh rides, when compared to my steel bicycles...

That said, I did like the ease with which I could ride the bicycle, thanks to good brakes and flawless indexed shifting. Sadly, the unforgiving nature of the frame finally caused wheel damage (I weight close to 250lb in those days)...

With all of that in mind, the price, for the Toronto market is just fine, in my opinion.

Unless there is something different about Cannondales from that era, most 60cm bikes would be very big for a 5'11" rider.
