Fuji Allegro
Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum and I have a question about the worth of this bike. I'm in the market for a fairly nice road bike in Boston that I could ride around a college campus and town. I have an offer slightly lower than what is listed in this ad and was wondering if this bike was actually still worth this much. Vintage Fuji Allegro. It looks like the 1985 version with minimal wear, just some metal tarnishing from age.
Also, if you know of any other good quality road bikes for sale in Boston please let me know. My price range is $150-$250 and I have been looking into brands like Bianchi and Fuji.

Boston may be hot market (I do not know) but not that hot. Allegro is worth 150+- even in good shape in most areas. If pristine and it fits maybe a bit higher for Beantown but if patient I am sure you can find a nicer one for 250 or less. Never hurts to make an offer but do so in person after admiring the bike. Fujis tend to be undervalued by most buyers but make good riders for the price.

Thank you guys for the help. It looks like a nice bike but I'm worried about how it's aged and how it'll hold up to use in the future. I'll see if I can take a look at it sometime soon.

That would be a solid $250 in Atlanta.

Not a good price at all. Brand new it was $249 https://www.classicfuji.com/1985_23_A...Mixte_Page.htm
21" bikes were hard to find in Boston (more decent bikes at 19"), but I found a few decent alternatives.
The Trek is the cheapest, with the nicest frame, but also sounds like it may need new inner tubes (and tires?). I would expect this to sell the fastest. The two Schwinns both look clean and ready to ride. The Traveler is similar to the Allegro in quality but at least you get down tube shifters and an extra $100 in your pocket.
[h=2]Vintage Trek Road Bicycle Bike 400 - $125 (North Attleboro)[/h]Vintage Trek Road Bicycle Bike 400
I have several excellent vintage bikes for sale. This one is a Trek 400 with Suntour components. If has Mangaloy 2001 double butted tubes. It is in very good condition and ready to ride. The frame size is perfect for someone under 5'10" the stand over height is about 30". Email with any questions.
I will also be listing a vintage Cannondale Criterium bicycle which is great for someone taller than 5'8". This bike is also in excellent condition.
THE FINE PRINT- No I will not deliver, Cash is not a bargaining point I expect cash, This bike is not new and as any bike it should be taken in for a tune up and tubes. If you know bicycles then you know the quality of this bike. The price is negotiable within reason. To get a bicycle of this quality now you would expect to pay over 4x the asking price. This is a solid bike by a great manufacturer and well worth $125. If the listing is up the bike is available.
[h=2]1981 Schwinn LeTour 21" - $140 (Milford)[/h]1981 Schwinn LeTour 21"
This is a 1981 Schwinn Letour, modified over the years with narrow aluminum rims, Shimano 600 Derailleurs and Shifters, Weinmann 500 Brakes. Excellent Shape, new 27 inch tires $140
[h=2]1983 Schwinn Traveler - $175 (Rehoboth)[/h]1983 Schwinn Traveler
1983 Schwinn Traveler
Bike is in excellent condition.
New tires,tubes,brake pads and cables. All tuned up and ready to ride.
Bike is all original with the exception of the replacement parts listed above.
Brakes and derailleurs work perfectly.
20" Frame with standover height of 31"...good for someone 5'6" - 6'.
