First off, calling that bike a street racer is really odd. It's a mixte style step through frame. These are considered utilitarian bikes. Good for commuting & running errands. It's already equipped with a rear rack which is nice.Fuji is a good brand. But, appears to need a complete overhaul. New grease & bearings, chain, brake pads. For my purposes, I'd convert it to upright handlebars. First offer about $70. Would not go over $100 for that.

Thanks for the response.
Would this be a better option?

The Schwinn is obviously in much better condition than the Fuji. It looks completely refurbished. So, $160 is a pretty reasonable price for that. It's a standard step through with one down tube instead of two. It also has threaded eyelets to allow installation of a rear rack. Those old Schwinn World Sports are really durable bikes. That one looks ready to ride.

Oh yeah.......... a little history lesson: World Sport was Schwinn's first effort at outsourcing bikes to overseas manufacturers. That bike was actually made by a company called Giant. The outsourced bikes were so much better than the ones made in USA Schwinn eventually quit making bikes here altogether.

Interesting. One of the concerns I had with this bike is I've read in multiple forums that the World Sport didn't become a reputable bike until mid-late 80s. What're your thoughts on this?

Still learning
WS - as shown, clean, but lowly. FMV <= $120
Fuji Mixte - dirty, old rubber, needs work. FMV <= $100 as shown. If cleaned, overhauled and ready to ride, it is $225.

WS doesn't seem to want to budge on the price.
I'm checking out the Fuji tomorrow. I got him to go down to $125 over email. Any tips to haggle even lower in person?
Thanks for your input.
