1984 Miyata Road Bike
I have been looking, and looking, and looking for a decent short lady bike for courier/commuting. I admit I am hung up on it being pink, but can you tell me if she's a good one? I'd be much obliged. I prefer a bit more upright than this, but guy says it should be OK with flat handlebars at least, if not cruiser bars.

Still learning
I sold the fully refurbished Miyata 90 last month for $225 US. Overall vg paint, but for one fork scratch. I changed the bars to NR and it has all new consumables as well. So based on that comparison, I think the bike you're looking at is probably $50-$75 CA too high.

It's been about 2 years ago, but I sold a pink Miyata mixte, frameset only, for over $200 vgc, plus shipping. Granted..........the value is likely in the pink.

Actually, this is a 1985 Miyata 90, which was 2nd from the bottom of the line. The seat and down tubes are plain gauge CrMo while the rest of the frame is hi-tensile steel. Derailleurs and brakes are low end Shimano Z-series and the wheels are only 27", with a nutted rear axle. It's in nice condition, Miyata is a premium brand and Ottawa is a hot market but $250 is tops and if this was a less desirable brand it would be $200.

Sweet bike! Agree with everyone, that asking price is much too high given what this is. Especially if you consider you'll probably want to change some things, possibly need to replace some consumables (tires, tubes, cables, etc.), customize things like the saddle...cost goes up. I picked up this one for a friend for $80 here is St. Louis some time back. We cleaned it up as noted above without too much added cost (she picked up a better saddle, not pictured). But I think it still came out under $200 after all was said and done.
