ID/ price on this Basso frame?
I ended up buying the bike. Planning to keep it as is for now. Original post is below.
I'm talking with the current owner about a possible purchase on this bike.
In all honesty I would be buying the bike for it's group.
What is the model and approximate value (fast sell) on the frame?
He advertises that it's a Gap, but also says there is a Tretubi decal... doesn't seem to add up.
I'm assuming the chrome chain stay doesn't have any bearing as it would on a Bianchi...

I would agree on a local sale $150 is likely about it $150-200 seems to be about the ceiling for frame sets or project bikes on CL. For what it's worth the group set and wheels if in very good condition would likely be worth the asking price for the whole bike in most markets.

Just curious, does anyone know what model this would be?
Supposedly 1990, tretubi, seller says Gap but I dunno about that.
I'm meeting him tomorrow.

I picked up the bike today. Man. This thing is basically NOS. I'm tempted to keep it instead of part it out for my Bianchi. Everything about this bike is tight, quiet, fast. Rode it 20 miles when I got it home and came back with a big smile on my face.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

Some of us wait to wade in until all the "holders" fall silent so as not to step on any "expert" toes.
The knowledge I hold is that the lugged Gap frames from the 1980's are Columbus SL, not Tretubi. One of my old shops used to sell them.
Sometime in the 1990's they switched over to mixing Columbus and Deda tubing, but some or all of those are fillet-brazed instead of lugged as yours is.
For this bike, since the Gap was their top-of-the-line, I doubt it would be Tretubi, not that it gives a bad ride, obviously.
Perhaps this will lure someone out to give a more detailed answer. Best of luck, and enjoy your beautiful bike!

Were the paint schemes kind of random, or were they set every year?

All equipped with Super Record reduced grouppos, I seem to also remember white saddles of some name brand or other.
If the Chorus/Syncro parts on yours are original, you'd be looking at late 1980's, into early 90's.
