1975 Alec Bird Bike For Sale. Worth it?
I am looking to get a vintage bike for the Eroica California ride this year (my first as vintage is a new hobby for me) and came across this "rare" Bird on CL for $600. It's tough to find any real info on this bike online. Does anyone have any input on it's true quality and whether that price is on target? It's based in the SF/Bay Area...

Thanks! First posting for me on this forum...

that has been posted for a while so i think you don't need to hurry. its getting passed over because no one knows to look for it Alec Bird was Ken Bird's brother if I am not mistaken, and he was not the glory hog like Ken so his name is not on as many bikes.
look up Ken Bird and you will get more hits. its a rare classic for sure, not one you will probably ever see again.

...I've looked at that add several times over the last few weeks. Not a bad price. I just finally realized I have too many bikes........ Also, for some reason I find this guy's ads irritating.

Thanks for all the feedback - I decided against pursuing the bike and decided on a decently priced 1983 Bianchi Campione D'Italia...
