Feeler: 1988 Paramount

All,

Undoubtedly you've seen this bike. It's amazing, but prefer to ride my Madison. Not much of a collector things. I have quite a bit into this bike, but wonder what you all would appraise it at in its current state. I have three thoughts; sell the complete bike, sell the frame and use components for a new build, or keep and ride it. I will likely keep it anyway, but just want to get an idea in case I decide to put it up.

Details here: Schwinn Paramount Track - Pedal Room

Part it out. Frame set is worth $600 +/- 10%.

If you sell it complete, you likely will be "donating" the components to the new owner.

Part it out.

I would say part it out also that's a very nice track frame worth about $500-600. The parts with current setup won't add much if anything to that figure. I think most buyer's on a bike like this would prefer a more traditional track setup, rather than the current street setup with the silly little bars.

Paramount track frames don't go quickly, especially at that price. I think you're $200 too high.

I've been watching a long time trying to find one of the OS road frames. I can't help but notice prices and what sells. But hope I'm wrong in your case.

That one doesn't look like it's got OS tubing (the TT looks smaller than the ST, and the DT looks the same diameter as the ST, which would be 25.4 TT with 28.6 ST and DT). The Waterford OS Paramounts came out the next year (1989).
