Colnago, 80's on CL

Is this a smokin deal if it's really clean? I called the ad and left a message. It's been up for 3 hours.

PS. She called back. Said 2 people want to see it and one offered $650 on the phone.
Never mind.

52cm Colnago 80's Model - $350

I don't know much about bikes, but I will do my best to answer questions.

All the components are campanela.

Too bad this bike is to big for me, because it's a much better ride than my Bianchi.

Yes, even at her "improved" price. But it could turn into an auction, and pricing go up to full market value. On a bike that does not fit, it does not make sense to pay full market value. On a keeper, sure.

Note, I paid a little less than that for my 2003 Colnago. And it is a keeper and ready to ride. But it was a really good deal at the time. Seller priced it high (maybe full market, but high end bikes do not get much interest around here right now). This eliminated any interest, and then he discounted it to move it.

Sometimes, "overpriced" bikes can become the better deal. You are seeing what can happen when a seller starts with a low price, gets a lot of interest, and raises the price accordingly. That is not uncommon. So if you are looking for a higher end bike, sometimes it pays to look at the ones that are at or above market price. You never know when reality will set in with the seller. If a seller posts a bike any the only call they get in a week is yours, you might get a deal.

Is it a good deal at $650?
I would think the frame alone might be worth more than that.
She said she would let me know if the first 2 guys pass on it. I doubt they would.

Keep in mind that the components are entry and relatively inexpensive. I have no clue what they are but the brakes have the on/off QR which is indicative of entry level Campy.
