PEUGEOT HELP: BUYING SOON! noob
there is (i believe) a teenager 15-17 selling this on craigslist.
he said 250 or best. hes holding it for me to drive down on thursday (140 roundtrip). i think the bike is gorgeous. however, being a noob (i have one road bike, riding for a few months) i decided to get the experts help. he says everything is fine. someone said this may be a P4 or P6. if this is stock components...what is this worth? http://i362.photobucket.com/albums/o...peaugot002.jpg thanks for helping! |
'86-ish PH10. If your the end user $250 is stretching it....try for $200.

If i have no experience in bike mechanics, should i just pay the lbs to convert the dt shifters to something else...if so, how much is it typically?

What do you want instead of the current DT's? Its almost always cheaper to buy a bike setup the way you want it versus converting. Its more important with this bike because there isnt a single part on there thats index/STI/Ergo compatible. Not a single part!!!! A quich rundown to convert to indexing: Levers: $20 downtube RD: $20 for a good quality shimano Freewheel: $30 7-speed index compatible Chain: $15 Cables: $10 Thats a minimum of $95 assuming you can handle the work yourself. STI's.....add $100. |
