Motobecane Love!
Hello, About a year and a half ago I was offered this vintage Motobecane bicycle, which i gladly took. I am absolutely in love with it! I was just wondering more about it, what it is worth, and any facts anyone might know. I have looked it up online, but had trouble finding information. Either way even if it is nothing special it is my love! I had to get a special pump for the tires. She is roughed up, and sitting on my back porch due to lack of good weather, but I'm going to attend to her immediately and get her healthy again for another good summer. It weighs virtually nothing. Some parts like the foot pedals are marked shimano, other parts are marked sun tour super bee??? The seat is marked "avocet".. not sure what it all means. It's a really cool Blue shiny metallic colour and it looks original to me because it's kind of worn. I named her Molly. Well I will attatch pictures thank you!

I suspect the parts have been switched over; suntour superbe is very good stuff. Mixtes (the style of your frame) are very in right now, and have at least some value, although they are generally not high end frames. Look for a tubing sticker on the seat tube (2040 or 1020 are two likely posibilties). I think the parts may have more value, a complete list would help.

I am not meaning for this to sound like I am being a jerk, but it is superbe, not superbee? They are nice, which is why I have been looking for a set for a little while but I keep forgetting about bidding on Ebay.
I have an Avocet saddle myself and love it. It came on a used bike I got and was an immediate keeper.
I really can't say much about the bike, but I am surprised that the bike is an 18 speed. It looks to me like someone had a bare frame and assembled a bike out of spare parts. This isn't meant to knock it though, I have one assembled similarly. This will make it hard to find info on it.
