raleigh super course
 
i just picked up a raleigh super course dunno the year or what not im guessing its a 10 speed and everyhting seems original. what do you guys think it is worth? has some rust spots and probally needs a new derailur.

this is the best i can do for now i dont have a dig cam. im still new to bikes but for soem details the front brake is labeled weinmann 610 vainqueuer 999 and it has a compagnolo front derailer and shifters and it says raleigh nottingham england on the front emblem. this is actually my second bike which i just got out of my neighbors trash 1 hour ago haha ps thank sfor the tips j

Looks like it is from the 1972-1973 era. Reynolds 531 main tubes for the frame.

I get dizzy looking at these pics. Makes me appreciate the white garage door backgrounds.

Should make a really nice bike once all cleaned up. Will require extensive cleaning. Keep away from steel wool as it will remove rust and chrome, it doesn't know the difference. Chrome plating on bicycles is really thin, its not like a bumper on an old car.

As is it has very little value as it is a project. People looking for projects (like me) don't pay much. Most buyers want a ready to ride, clean, bike. So if you have the time and tools to rebuild it, it could have some good value.

thanks for the input its all good up and working got on new tires/tubes brake cables and some other goodies cleaned up the bike quite a bit came out good for a free bike but fixing it wasnt cheap eithr lol definitly looks better than the early 70's acenta i bought for 85!

Your Supercourse is likely from 1973. This is the year the Block style Raleigh lettering superceded the sphagetti style lettering on the down tube. In '74, the Supercourse was superseded by the Supercourse MKII, which had a two tone paint scheme.

thanks for the help and input i just talked to my neighbor yesrtday abotu it I think im going to keep it i just got it all fixed up came out nice
