Ron Cooper...

What does a nice Ron Cooper frame and fork sell for these days... I am thinking of buying a complete bike from the co-op and want to offer a fair price.

It's a rather plain looking silver / grey bike but the workmanship on the lugs is exquisite as is the case with Cooper frames.

It needs a few touch ups to the paint and the decals are a little worn.

Ron Cooper is on my short list of most underrated builders. Unfortunately, his bikes and frames are very undervalued, IMO. They often go for a relative song on ebay - I've seen nice complete bikes with good parts (i.e. all Campagnolo) sell in the $500-600 range, and sometimes less. I'm always on the lookout for a nice one my size if it can be had for a bargain price. I suspect the day will come when they'll be appreciated at their true worth.

Thanks.

That "relatively undervalued" is good for people who appreciate fine craftsmanship and I should get a pretty good deal on the bike which is fitted out with a mix of Zeus 2000 components, Campy, and Sugino.

The 2000 brakes and levers are gorgeous.
