1989 Peugeot PS22
here's what the seller has to say:
"Classic 1989 Peugout CS22 road bicycle 58cm. All Shimano 600 components including Bio Pace. Original right down to the tires. Original owner, light use. $500. Call xxx-xxx-xxxx to view. "
what's a good price to haggle this down to? 500 dollars seems unbelievably excessive to me.

$500 is really excessive. That doesn't look like an '89 bike to me. In '89 the shimano 600 components were the tricolor variety (indexed 7 speed with aero super slr brakes). Those components are an earlier generation.
That color is sweet though, but I would maybe pay $225 tops for that bike

+1 Looks like a $225 to $250 bike from the mid 1980s. Does it have indexed or friction shifting? To be a 1989 bike, it would have indexed shifting.

More than likely a 1985-ish model. Think PGN10 with a cheesey fork and Shimano 600 EX components.
$300-ish in Tampa as I just sold a mint 1988 Triathlon w/ Shimano 105 for $300.
If its a Canadian model I'd say $200-225.
