Value of a Raleigh Gran Sport
I just picked up this Raleigh Gran Sport and was curious about the value.
-531 butted main tubes, straight gauge 531 forks and stays.
-Suntour bar end shifters
-Brooks Professional saddle
-Suntour VGT luxe derailleurs
-Normandy high flange hubs laced to weinmann rims
-GB stem
-Atom pedals
-Stronglight crank
-White Carlton hoods are in great shape
-New tires; Kenda 27 x 1 3/8
The paint has some very minor superficial rust but really nothing major... unlike my Fuji. The paint and decals look to be in good shape overall. Someone inserted a small seat post and the seat lug is a bit pinched, I am going to try to insert the proper seat post and see what happens.
So what do you guys think?

I've seen them go for three on e-bay that were newer and different models but essentially similar in that they had quality tubesets as yours does and had high level groups respective to their vintage. I've recently read statements in regards to used Brooks saddles being worth seventy five dollars or more. What does that tell you. I'm not suggesting that you part it out, I'm just sayin'..... as many members who read you = as many prices that will be suggested. From where I stand, I could see myself paying two for it. That model in the fairly good, not altered shape it's in, doesn't pop-up every day.

the suntour barcons alone are worth $30 on the 'bay, and the brooks pro is worth $70. the frameset alone is worth at least $100. so that's $200 not even counting the component group. so there you have it. personally, i would keep the bike as is and enjoy it!

Sold 2 this week - one in basically original condition for $350 and the other outfitted very similar to yours for $260, which I thought was a little low. Mine were both '71's or so with Zeus dropouts (which look stamped, but have a hanger). Was sad to see the second one go since it was in my size.
