Campy Triomphe crankset and BB

I'm planning on selling the Campy Triomphe crankset off of my girlfriend's bike. It's not super practical for her to have a crankset with 42/53 chainrings and 116bcd rings aren't super easy to come by these days. I think we'll replace it with a 110 double w/ 34 inner and 48 outer - that combined with a 13-28 7 speed freewheel will be all the gearing she should need.

The crankset has a few scratches, nothing some metal polish and elbow grease couldn't take care of. I'd sell it with the nice loose bearing BB as well (I assume it's campy, but I've never taken it out in the year she's had so I'm not sure).

What do you think is a reasonable price for the crankset including BB?

You're better off keeping it around. I, personally, wouldn't pay more then $45 for a Tromphe crankset w/BB; the Triomphe parts don't fetch much (and aren't particularly desired).

That said, you'd be better of selling the BB separate - if the link to the Triomphe crankset is ignored, it could bring $40 by itself. The crankset might fetch $25-30.

yes I am steeling this thread. so if a Triomphe crank and BB is not worth much, is there a market for a pair of NOS triomphe hubs? thye have never even been built. should I sell the skewers and then pull out the axles and simply sell them as Campi axles? or does someone have interest them?

Thanks for the info cudak. I honestly don't have much use for a Triomphe crankset. $45ish is worth more than a crankset that sits around not getting used, waiting for a day that it might potentially go on a bike.

Bianchigirll, the thread's all yours.

I have a Triomphe gruppo I'm cleaning for sale. I'm fairly certain the cranks are clear anodized, so it might take some stripping and machine buffing to get them shiny. They are much lighter than I expected, so for 'low-end' Campy, they are much better than a lot of the mid-range Japanese stuff.

I'm not all that clear on price, either, but I think you're probably close to fair market value. I agree with cudak888, however, that you sell the BB separately. I was planning on selling my crank+BB for $45, but that's because the BB is slightly pitted (which I would disclose, of course).
