No idea...its being called an Italian Racer, but with a Kingston Southampton badge I'm assuming its English. Bar-ends, Campy....any help?

Absolutely no idea...but what a lovely bike. Sounds English to me also. Is the chrome as clean as it looks?

you're right, what I can tell from the one pic: long wheelbase, a Brampton-Victor fastback seatcluster: it's probably British. It does have a lot of I-talian stuff on it.
Kingston-Southampton: heard of both those places, but not that make of bike!
How about some more and better pics?

If the seller emails me back and I can meet him tomorrow, I'll take tons...asking $450 for it.

No help on this thing?

Certainly looks odd. The Classic Rendevous list usually has more Brits than here so maybe they can be of assistance.

I'm on it. Kingston was apparently the name of a brand built by Mike Compton, who was at one time the shop foreman at the highly regarded Rotrax Cycles. Surely it's a high quality bike. I'd purchase it and then write to one of the Brit experts, e.g. Hilary Stone, for any additional info. Worth the asking price, IMO.
Oh, and Rotrax was/is located in Southampton. So I'm betting heavily that your Kingston is the same one associated with Compton.

If it turns out to be a Rotrax, it's a good bike...buy it.

Wouldn't be a Rotrax, but built by the guy who was head guy at Rotrax. So I'm sure good quality. Maybe not huge resale value, simply because we know how name recognition drives that kind of thing. But I still think the price/quality ratio is in the right range. Mike Compton is apparently a well-regarded builder, at least among the British experts.
