1996 Debernardi Thron
How much would you say this is worth?
http://velospace.org/node/24115 It has some paint missing under the top tube, but it's not terrible. Comes exactly as pictured, sans pedals. Apologies if this is not considered C&V. |
$250-$350
|
Any other opinions, or is it generally agreed that that's a fair price?
|
Depends on where you live. In Toronto, which is a ridiculously hot market, I think you could probably get $400-450 because of the brifters. In cooler more sane markets I would agree with JYB

I've got a Thron tubed Univega with 9 speed Campy Veloce/Mirage listed in the NYC metro market for $350 and I've only received a few nibbles. Granted the DeBernardi has an Italian name, and the lug construction does look nicer than my Univega, but I think $450 would be a stretch, especially with older 105. But hey, you might as well try it. You can always drop your price.

Actually, you might be better off parting it out, if you're indeed the one selling. The frame, brifters, and wheels could potentially sell for as much or more than the entire bike.
|
the above figures seem about right, but it does depend where you live and somewhat if your the buyer or the seller. there is nothing unique about it and it does not have a Marque name like Fuji, Bianchi or Raleigh.
if I were selling it I would go to wallymart and get a cheap bottle/cage and seatbag to dress it up a bit. |
Link to the velospace photo in your(?) CL ad - it's far better. So you've dropped it from $500 to $400? I think that's probably a good place to be.

I was actually interested in buying it, but I see that you've come across the Craigslist ad. I had asked the seller how low he was willing to go, then came here to find out if it was fair. I think I'm going to pass on this one. Thanks for the help :) |
