hi, i'm new to road bikes and just bikes in general
i'm moving to austin. tx soon and would like a nice road bike to get around the city
i am currently looking at this bike: http://houston.craigslist.org/bik/1801568320.html does this seem like a good deal? i hear that the ironman series is very reputable. thank you |
You've heard right. Ironman Expert series bikes are very well-built, and have retained a good deal of their value.
If it fits, it's a great bike. $260 is on the higher end of what I'd pay for it, but it's most definitely a nice bike. |
I'd go for it. Hopefully, you've got about 10% negotiating room on the bike. Yeah, you might find something cheaper, but you're not going to find too much that is nicer in that price range for a first bike. Get a BIG lock and chain if you buy it - that's definitely very desirable theft bait.
Just make sure it fits you properly. |
looks like a nice bike at a good price, particularly assuming the price is higher than what they would settle for. Hopefully it fits you better than it fit whoever set that saddle height.
I moved your thread to the appropriate forum. |
