Value of 1978-80 Raleigh team pro with 753 tubing.
I bought this bike the other day for $150 and I have the feeling that it was quite a steal. The bikes value and any other info would be much appreciated.

Nice steel bike with 700c wheels and some Campy components. You got a good deal and she's good as is.
I'd sell off the Campy stuff, install dual pivot brakes, bar end shifters, and clipless pedals. The proceeds from the Campy sale would pay for the new items and reduce the overall cost.

Great deal but a. it needs work b. if it is 753 it is older than late 80s c. we really need a drive-side picture.

For starters, the shifting cable on the front shifter is loose. Then you need some real clamp on cable guides and you need to flip the front wheel so the quick release is on the other (Non-drive) side. I suspect that other things might need adjustment as well. Drive-side is the one not pictured (where the crankset, chain and derailleurs are)

Since this is an evaluation request, I will relate that I paid north of $600 for a very similar 753 bike. I think I got a steal. You definitely did. You can see photos of mine by clicking the link in my signature

basically this bike needs a good tuneup. if you only paid $150 and are not familiar with repairing bikes it is well worth investing $40 to 50 for a professional tuneup.
robtown why strip it? assuming the OP bought the bike to enjoy it and not solely for profit why should he change it? if the brakes are properly tuned they will stop jus as well today as they did when new.

Correction. Top of the line bike steel frame whether it is 531 or 753. Why would you want to sell off the Campag items? Those are nutted brakes, so dual pivot is going to mean a conversion one way or another. I will concede the bar ends and pedals. What new items would he really need other than the cable clips and some maintenance? If it is 753, you do not want to spread that frame to 130 for an 8 plus wheel. 753 is not as flexible as 531. You might get away with it but you do not want to take that chance.
