1980 Romic "Model 25"

I have a 1980 Romic. Since I acquired her a few years ago, I've managed to find out more about this bike -- including the log entry of the original manufacture:

https://www-hsc.usc.edu/~rpinder/images/RomicBook3.jpg

Last number on the bottom left page. 13032 82880

22 1/2" frame
tubing is Reynolds 531
Nervex lugs
campy record hubs
campy dropout
Shimano 52 Dura Ace, 165 mm
Handlebars and stem are Winpista-- handlebars are Winpista Kuzuki
Dia Compe 5000
Suntour Accushift 4050
It also oddly has stem shifters (!!)
Wolber TX Profil rims

I cleaned her up, had a minor service done (lube, etc), and new tires.

Yes, I know the stem shifters need to go into a deep hole, but I don't ride her -- I thought I might -- but, I find that I don't. So I'd like to know, if possible, an idea as to value of this lovely bike that's taking up some of my prime garage real estate.

Romic ebay auctions seem to be few and far between. I've seen frames go for a few hundred to the just over seven hundred dollars in the past few years. I confess to not being knowledgeable enough to figure out more of a value for this bike. So any guidance is welcome.

it's strange that it doesn't have any braze ons from that time period. It seems like $300 would be insultingly low for a bike with that frame, but it has a batch of weird/cheaper parts on it. If it were all original, it would be worth a lot more.

+1 Severe Frankenbike. It will take a special buyer to look past those issues. Or part it out, since it sure does not appear to be the original build anyway. With that Franken-build, I bet you could get more for just the frame than for the entire bike as it sits.

The stem shifters, modern bars and modern saddle look out of place, but the frame itself looks nice. I'd part it out and sell the frame separately.

Clamp on shifters were typical for this bike -- so no braze-ons were removed. I actually found a set of Suntour clamp-ons and was going to install them and never got around to it. :-/

Any idea of the value of just the frame? Although I loathe to strip her down -- because I do believe that many of the parts are original -- including the Winpista Kusuki bars -- which were pretty popular in the 1980's. Albeit they might have been added later in the 80's -- there's no way of knowing.

There's some information on Romic here
https://search.bikelist.org/?SearchSt...ssicrendezvous
builder was Ray Gasorowski, who built custom frames in Houston Texas.
There are some prices mentioned in a few of the posts, I saw $800 for a
complete bike, $375 for a frame/fork.
As Ray is no longer with us, I can see these increasing in value.

I've read about everything available on the web about Ray and his bicycles (that's how I found the serial number entry :-) ).. Ray was a well respected builder.. he used to build bikes for the Velodrome... BUT, there's very little out there about current value.
