Hey guys I found this Stucchi at a yard sale for $10 and my stepdad actually bought it before I could find the seller, so I am a little upset to say the least. I didn't know anything about it but saw that it was made in Italy and had high-end components on it. The paint is almost completely roached, but its got a Brooks Professional and Campagnolo stuff on it. I don't have access to the bike right now but I believe the brakes were labeled, "Belle" or "Bella". I'll find out for sure within the next day or so. Let me know if you want any other pictures.

Does anybody know anything about this bike, model, year, value? All I know about Stucchi is that they were pretty high-end and went out of business in the 60's. Thanks.

Stucchi's are very uncommon, and a very, very old brand. I remember seeing a Stucchi built Legnano-copy that was pretty nice. You're lucky in that you got a great saddle and cotterless cranks on this one. Nice, unusual find, and probably a great rider. Don't know about value, but I wouldn't plan your retirement on it because the brand is so unknown there's no brand-recognition for it.

Thanks for the replies. I'll get some hi-res photos up tonight or tomorrow. Ya, stepdad wants to get into cycling so he bought this bike, I'm still trying to get it from him before he ruins it by trying to "fix it up".

Wow, that bike has some beautiful parts on it. Campy record drivetrain, nice campy post (I hope it's not stuck), really nice Fiamme rims... this is all good stuff. Those are Balilla brakes BTW. I would proceed very, very carefully with the restoration. Try to gently get rid of that rust, then wax the frame and polish everything up so you can see what you've got. I can guarantee you that with those parts on it, that Stucchi was not made of gaspipe tubing. I'm no expert on Columbus tubing, but that'd be my guess here. Once you can determine the seatpost diameter we should have a better guess. Anyhow after seeing the close-ups, I am very interested to see how this one turns out. Offer your step-dad $100 for the bike, and then you can take it slow and do it right.

Also, forgot to mention. The RD is a true Campagnolo Record derailleur, the cast bronze kind. It is a pretty rare bird. I have the same derailleur on my early 60's Cinelli. I would say the RD places your Stucchi around 1964/5 because right after that the Nuovo Record RD was introduced, and right before that it would have been Gran Sport. Anyhow be careful with that derailleur, it's nice.

Jchibante, just so you know the item everyone is excited about is the cranks, which is why I requested input from the forum members. Those cranks were produced only for a very short time, and they are extremely sought-after and rare. My understanding is that they only work with special pedals with a shorter spindle, which you clearly also have. If you do get the bike, you could probably finance a lot of the restoration of that bike just by selling the cranks/pedals on ebay.

What is a ballpark figure to sell whole bike? Part-Out? Im trying to get him to sell it and at least let people who will appreciate it have it and he can probably buy a bike that will suit his needs (ride a couple times, then sit in the garage until I inherit) and still pocket some money.

Jchibante as much as I hate parting out bikes, in this case the value of the bike is definitely in the parts. Get some tips from forum members here more experienced with posting on ebay than me, and put the components up separately after cleaning them carefully and taking high quality photos. They wouldn't go for this in today's market, but I've seen those cranks (with the bottom bracket) go for $1,000 alone.
