Carrera Podium Columbus Thron Custom Tubing Road Bike History and Value
Hi, I recently picked up a unique road bike called Carrera Podium. Can anyone tell me something about the bike and value?
Here some pic's: http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0002.jpg http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0015.jpg http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0008.jpg http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0014.jpg http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC_0003.jpg There's no dings, no dents, frame is straight, very little oxidation. But, the paint needs help, lots of paint chips and flaking. The decals are very good and I think it might not be decals but hand paint lettering and stripping. The chrome is great shape, too! Thank you, Mike(gioscinelli) |
Carrera was a noted brand of Italian jeans. They sponsored pro teams from 1984-1996 and they used Carrera branded frames from 1989to 1996, with the exception of 1991 & 1992. Specualtion is that they are actually Battaglin frames. Columbus Thron was introduced circa 1994, so this is most likely a mid-1990's frame.

I've always been amazed that a jeans company's team could become so famous that the frames would adopt the name. Roche had a true champion's year in '87, but still....
