Bertoni Crono Olympiad?
Hi this is my first post I have a Bertoni Crono Olympiad? that I got used back in 1988
Believe its from 1986 or at least that is the year on the bro sure I have that I got this photo from?
I am doing a big clean up in my garage and this has been hanging on my wall for a long time and I have no use for it anymore so I was thinking of selling it but I have never seen another like it or any other photos of anything even close?
I had the paint job professionally done back in 2000 from CYCLART and I got the last set of factory decals they had in stock and the decals are underneath the clear coat now.
I even went with the stock silver paint. The only difference between the bike in this photo is mine has Areo Levers and no Solid front Chain Ring.
Mine does not have any tires or pedals on it but everything else is the same 700c Rear rim and 650c front.
The Bertoni Catalog says they were by custom order only has anyone ever seen another or can give some more insight on this for me before I put it up for sale and what do you think it is worth??
Here is a photo from the catalog I will try and post a few photos soon I have to push out a car in my garage to get to it!
Thanks

If you got it used in 1988, it's not likely to be earlier than 1987 and they still had the TT chainring and non-aero levers that year. Unfortunately, the their absence will knock the price down, as will the lack of tires and pedals.
While this is a relatively rare bicycle, there are also a limited amount of potential buyers, given the specific use. Considering the missing parts, I'd say it would bring $300-$400. A complete version with all OEM parts would add about $250.
Bianchigirll, just may want to consider this, given that most Bertoni were manufactured by Bianchi. The serial number will tell us for sure and, if so, will also indicate the year.

The serial number is D.043 on one side of the bb and 60 on the other side and from my notes I have it measured 60cm from center of the bb to the top of the seat tube so the 60 must be the size and D.043 must be the serial number.
Anyone have a listing of Bertoni serial number's?

While it's similar to the Bianchi format, it's not the same. Rear derailleur should have a patent date on the top housing, next to the cable housing recess. The crankset would nornally have date code on the back, but those actually look like Gran Sport, as opposed to Record and I'm not sure if they coded those. Code would be two numbers inside a circle. Component codes, especially Camapgnolo, aren't as accurate as serial numbers but hey will get you in the ballpark.
Edit: GS cranks just pooped up another thread and they are coded. Brochure claims SR cranks, so maybe I'm wong about model.

That is the only funny bike I'd consider owning. Still not sure I could ride it, though.

Very cool! Might I ask, as someone uneducated in TT and disc wheels...what is the purpose of the large holes near the rims?

the hole near the rim area is where you attach the chuck to the valve stem.

Yes the holes in the rims are for accessing the valve stems and I do have a special tool that goes in there for inflating the tires.
Also have some extra parts ?
here are a few more photos

The discs on this bike is a early version of the disc wheel it is a solid type Kevlar rim with a honeycomb construction they are not as light as modern style disc wheels.

Thank you for these pics.
Fun to see one again. My brother raced for a season with a very similar model.
We were a lot lighter and flexible in those days, but it would be fun to bring back some memories and ride this around the block just once!

I have been trying to contact the seller with little success I believe it must either not be for sale or already sold.
