Quick: Schwinn Voyaguer 11.8
I have a opportunity to buy one at what I feel is a steal but want your opinion.
Description: Black frame with chrome accents on the fork and chain/seat stays. Red lettering with gold tracing. I googled it and a really nice one came up on an image search.
It has a shimano altus rd. The rest is no name shimano stuff.
What is a fair price?

My Super Letour 12.2 sold for $165 pretty quick. That was with correct parts including the 600 RD. I would say for average condition with decent tires that would be close to where you want to be for a decent rider. If it is like new closer to $200.

$200 to $250, higher end if all original in good shape.
The entrie frame is Chromed, the stays and forks are exposed. The geometry is steep angles and low trail (per the bike geometery database). The 11.8 is the weight in Kg, or 26.0 lbs

It is Chromed but only the forks and stays were polished. The rest of the bike would not look good bare. To get a full Chrome model it was something like a $40 option.

I wouldn't pay more than $200 for one. It's a good bike, but not the lightest, and neither a real touring bike or a sporty bike. The stock components and wheels aren't the best either. That said I really liked how the one I had rode.

What Mazdaspeed said. I got mine for about $50, its pretty minty and would have sold in a heartbeat around here for $200.
I still haven't really figured out what to do with mine, like mentioned, its a land yacht.

Sold this one for $250 during riding season. Right now, it would go for less. Frame paint and chrome were spotless, new tires, tubes, bearings, grease, etc.

Hmm....maybe I'll skip it. I always read stories here about these great finds at pawn shops. I was hoping I going to get to tell one. They're asking $130, I offered $75, they said the lowest they could go was $100. Told em I'd think about it.
Oh well, I just keep looking. Hoping to find something Italian made.
Thanks for everyone's input. Ya saved me!

As far as great finds at Pawn shops, I look for bikes every day, been doing it for several years, and I have yet to have found a single good deal at a Pawn shop. The Pawn shops around here are pretty savvy, they know how to use Google just fine.
While I have posted a variety of deals I have snagged (I rarely post the price, but figure low), it can be misleading. I look all of the time. The odds of finding bikes is proportional to the effort and time spent looking.
This bike for $100 is a deal.
If you are looking for something decent and Italian, the budget point will be quite a bit higher.

If the bike is your size and $100, I think it is a very good deal.
