I recently purchased a frame off craigslist and I was trying to work out the make year, model. The seller told me it was a Suteki or Nishiki I cannot remember off the top of my head.

Frame: gold colour, not sure of the make or year and it seems the fork has red spray on the stem indicating its either a non original fork or it has been repainted at some stage. It features center pull brakes, braze on cable mounts and SunTour GS dropouts.

Stem: SR
Chanring: Sugino forged Japan 170
Pedals: (SR) SP-152
Bottom Bracket: Tange 1.37X24T
Serial Number: WH8001750. There is also a "K" stamped at right angles to this number.

After scouring the internet for a day or so I've found it har to come up with any real information. Any help would be appreciated.

If you're not asking for a value, post in the C&V forum proper, with large clear photos, including a whole-bike shot of the drive side. You will get an answer.

Nishiki makes sense. Most of their frames were manufactured by Kawamura and some of their BB shells exhibited a K cut-out or stamping. Their serial number format in the late 1980s also follows the basic format mentioned, though typically they have a couple less numbers. Assuming it is a Kawamura built Nishiki, it should be circa 1988 based on the serial number and is probably at least mid-range, as the entry level models were being built by Giant or somebody else other than Kawamura. Pics may help further, as would the seat post diameter.
