Tugadude, thank you kindly for your response. I absolutely agree with you on all points raised and indeed you qualified my concerns. There is nothing particularly glorious about the components and indeed the lack of original components and repainted finish takes it out of the "collectors sphere" and towards having a decently functioning vintage bike with a nice , but standard enough frame. Nothing to justify the higher price I would have thought. Indeed , whilst it is hard to determine from the finish in the photograph I would say it is a rattle can finish but I'll keep an open mind on that of course and ask the appropriate questions. I appreciate you taking the time to respond, it's been very useful.
Bibliobob, also thank you very much for your kind response. And again you have qualified my concerns very succinctly. I take your point that it's not vastly over priced and that there is not much between the listed price and my perception of it's value (hopefully I'm not second guessing you incorrectly there)
I'll have a look at it of course, it's too nice not to at least glance upon , and it is very local to me so it's no trouble at all. If it's spray can painted I have to say I would be less inclined to bite, even at 100 pounds because I would most likely send it to be professionally repainted and the economics of that are not so appealing.
I thank you both sincerly for your input. I have found it most valuable.
