Schwinn World Tourist

Is this a reasonable price to pay for a back-up commuter?: https://memphis.craigslist.org/bik/5853915896.html.
The owner has dropped the price quite a bit over the last couple of weeks (it was originally listed for $250), but I admit that I know nothing about these bikes. Many thanks.

Well, seeing as how that looks like a 1980 World Tourist and not a "60s bike" like the seller suggests, I'd say the guy would be lucky to get $50.

Yeah, I kind of assumed that this was an early '80s rig, but hadn't heard anything about them before.

If that's what you're into, those are about the nicest riding "northroad" style bikes I've ridden. Probably Panasonic made that and offers them also as a Panasonic Tourist. IF I wanted such a bike, I'd probably try to get that one and offer 100-120, just cuz' it's CL. That bikes looks to be in great shape too.

It really looks like it's in good shape to me. Nice fenders & chain guard. It would really depend on the condition of tires, chain, seat, brake pads, pedals, & cables to me. If it didn't need too many new parts then around $100 - $150 is not unreasonable. If it's burned out then maybe $50 to $100.
