Ltd Edition Kirk Precision Road racing bike

My father has had this bike for about 20 years. today he reveals he has offered to GIVE IT AWAY to someone and both my mother and i are trying to find out how much this bike sells for to stop him from making a mistake.

it's only been ridden once and (as far as i can see) has none of the cracking the magnesium made by the creator are said to suffer from... the brakes are old and will need replacing and both tires are flat... and again will need replacing.

EDIT- My father has insisted for years that this is a concept and only one of six concepts built

those were very cool at the time. I think a few more than 6 were built, it is in the class of the Trimbles and the Slingshots an OK idea that never went anywhere. I saw one when I worked in a shop near bostone years ago.

I certainly think it is worth something but this will be a case of beauty and value are in the eye of the beholder. unless he is giving it to me, make sure he gets something for it

i'm guessing that more were made after he was given it...

my problem is that, being wheelchair-bound 90% of the time, i've not been interested in bicycles since i was about 14 (the last time i was able to ride) so i have no idea whatsoever about where to go or who to talk to about this LOL

More than 6 were made, they are a piece of bike history, not terribly light (in spite of the original claims) they are a BIG magnesium casting, and casting flaws quickly became cracks. And not terribly stiff.

There is a weak market for them, I think the last one I saw on ebay a long time ago went for $700. as a complete bike, I forget how good the parts on it were.
