Pro series has 531 for main triangle and chromoly fork and stays. No rust or dents with decent paint about $100.

Does your 560 has "Pro Series" written on the top tube? If not then it is not same one.

Trek only used "Pro Series" on their 86 and 87 bikes.

Is that this one? http://fortcollins.craigslist.org/bik/2274991782.html
Seems like decent deal if it's in decent condition.

I owned of of those for a while. Very nice bike. In SoCal that would be a desirable price. If it is your size and in good shape don't wait or it will be gone.

A vintage Reynolds steel Trek with Shimano 600 in good condition?!
- Won't last long.

PS - Probably it's an '86 model if it's described by the seller as a white Pro series - (actually white-yellow fade that year.)

I sold a large 560 Pro Series with mediocre paint 2 years ago for $130 on Ebay, if that helps any. Nice frames BTW.

About 3 years ago I sold a small-framed Trek 560 in Reynolds 501 (not 531) with Suntour AR for $360. It was in excellent condition though.

Admittedly, I couldn't sell a De Rosa for that much around here today, but that's just because of the way things have deteriorated locally. However, it does go to show that (some) people hold almost any steel Trek in high esteem.
Personally, I think these old Treks could go toe-to-toe with any other maker.

So Septacycles! - Did you get it???

Got it yesterday... nice bike in great shape... break levers were upgraded to the tri color shimano 600, has original leather saddle, paint in great shape... love the lugs and yellow / red paint job. Only funky thing is the right down tube shifter lever was replace with a 105 shifter... I have a set of 600 tri color down tube shifter but I don't know if its work switching out... it all works fine. All in all a sharp bike for a fair. price.

A friend of mine just picked up a pair of idential Trek 330's for a ridiculously cheap price... I think he said $150 for the pair... I like the paint on mine better...

anyone want to weigh in on a 560 pro series vs trek 330 elance?

54 cm is feeling a little small these days since I've been riding a 56 miyata daily... I will probably ride the trek for a few months and sell or swap it for something at one of the bike swap I'm going to this summer.

Thanks for the encouragement... the wife was thrilled I got another bike... ha!

Cool, lemme know when you're gonna flip it Is it really a 54cm? Most of the Trek's I've seen of that era are about 20.5 " .. or closer to 53cm, which feels a little small for me (I ride a 55cm, typically).
