'80's Club Fuji in excellent condition? (Value)
I been helping my daughter find a faster bike (so she can keep up with her messenger BF on weekend rides). She's got a few nice urban bikes, a Fuji Touring bike, but wants something...clubbier faster
An 80's Club Fuji came up locally

The values as quoted in a few threads here put a good value at $200-250 for one in good shape. The seller wants a LOT more than that... so I thought I'd ask here.

If that's Khatfull's rebuilt Club Fuji, it's worth a LOT more than $250...in this market, thats a $500 bike, easy.

Yep, I got that the first time around, but I think Keith sold it to someone a while ago. Sure looks like his- red hoods, matching pump, size is correct. And the polish job...

That is in fact my 85 Club that I sold in WI last September. I didn't sell the pump with the bike BTW. It is one sweet machine...the ONLY reason it departed my company is size. The seller used my pics with permission...
Here's one of the other eye candy pics:

I'm inquiring on behalf of my daughter (she lives in Chi). She is figuring she needs a 53CM bike (she is maybe 5'6"-7" tall) and I'm thinking it might be a tad tall. Seller says it is 54-55CM. Is a pretty looking bike.

I agree that is one sexxy Fuji! go and get it.
I am not sure why she finds her tourng bike slow or does she just have the N+1 sickness too? I used to ride with some Gents who were pertty darn fast on their Touring Series and Saratoga Fujis.

This bike would attract A LOT of attention in my neck-of-the-woods. I could see it selling for 350 easy here, which is probably pretty close to its original retail value. However, knowing who the rehabber is and seeing several examples of his other work would increase the value to me. Bikes are shipped to the shop in boxes and often slapped together to get them to the showroom floor as quickly as possible. Knowing that the bike had been meticulously built by an able mechanic would increase it value to 400-450 to me. Advertised properly on ebay, and in as near to NOS as you probably can get, yes I can see adding 100 shipping and see it selling for over 500.

If she's 5-6 to 5-7 and doesn't have short stubby legs I'd imagine she'd fit fine. There's a lot of stem/seatpost adjustment available. The top tube isn't especially long.

yup... this bike is in A-1 condition. I went ahead and picked it up for my daughter. She'll pick it up later this week and should be DE-Lighted. I told her that for a few dollars more, she could easily pick up a fast roadie (like a used Trek Pilot or whatever) and she said... nah... that's not what I like...I like the old steel bikes.
That's my girl! A chip off the old chrome-oly block
Now all I have left to do is find a late 80's steel roadie/crit frame/bike for my next 650B project.
