2000 Bianchi Reparto Corse Lite Alloy

Hi - I'm looking at one locally. Here's how the owner describes the bike:

Year 2000 Reparto Corse Lite Alloy frame with Campagnolo Veloce 9 speed group. Veloce brakes. Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheels. Vittoria tires. Bianchi carbon fork with alloy steer tube. Alloy bar and stem. Look Keo carbon pedals. 53/39 175 mm crank on square taper spindle. Easton EC70 carbon seat post. Cane Creek headset.

Bike is tuned and ready to ride. Never crashed or damaged. A few scratches but otherwise in very good condition.

Asking price is $850. I tried talking with shops locally but couldn't get any guidance if this is reasonable.

Your feedback greatly appreciated.

I'll be the first since no one seems to be awake yet...

Can you post pictures?

I would check closed ebay auctions or use the site http://bike.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/bike.cgi to search current ebay and craigslist add across the country to get an idea of what others are selling their bikes for.

You location also make a difference...

For bianchi... color also is important... the celest green frames go for more

As Bianchi Girl has so many time pointed out... the name reparto corse was slapped on a lot of biachii's and doesn't really tell you that much.

Campagnolo Veloce is entry level campy but very functional

Based on a quick ebay snooping... I found a 2002 bianchi reparto corse with camy chorus 10 speed that sold for $800 with free shipping... also celeste green reparto corse frame from that time seem to go for around $300.

Other bianchi with veloce usually sell for around $500 to $650 depending on color and condition.

Factoring in the wheelset... Mavic Ksyrium are nice wheels... value of wheels depends on the condition and how old they are and wheels could be worth $200 to $300 alone...

$850 is sounding fair as long as it is in very good condition but getting it for $650 to $750 would probably make both seller and buyer happy. good luck

I'm not an expert these are all just educated opinios

Okay just saw the picture...

I would say frame and fork... worth $300 ... in good to excellent condition

Veloce group... worth $250ish

So it comes down to the wheels... Say $200 for the wheels...

I say over all value is $750 and let others put in their 2 cents...

cheers

If you do get it... get some celeste bar tape and maybe a celest saddle... that blue tape is killing me or at least match the yellow on the frame.

Many thanks for the feedback. The seller volunteered to replace the bar tape . I hope to look at it over the weekend.

2000 is about right for the time period when Bianchi put RC decals on everything. if there is a model name anywhere on the frame it is not a RC bike.

personally I think $850 may be a bit high for a plain jane 2000 bike

Septacycles just what is wrong with blue tape? I think it brings out the blue in the decals a bit and it does not get dirty looking as fast as celeste especially the cork stuff

I saw a Bianchi Alfana w/ bottom barrel Avanti go for $500 + S&H buy it now on eBay... $850 for this doesn't seem so crazy after that

I missed it at $150 locally.

Bianchi Girl... on the bike you posted... blue looks fine because the decals have a deeper and greater amount of blue...

on the bike the original post is about I just think... Black, Celest, or Yellow bar tape would compliment the decals better. I'm by no means a color expert... it just struck me as a less appealing color scheme. I would also say its not worth replacing the tape unless it not in good shape.

Update: I got the bike couple weeks ago after talking with the seller and seeing it. Seller agreed to replace bar tape (white!) and a basic tuneup and we agreed at $725. Went for a ride past weekend. Great feeling riding road bike after a long time riding MTB's.

I am interested in learning more about it, especially given the controversy that exists regarding RC bikes from early 2000's. What info would be helpful?

Thanks again for your helpful feedback.

there isn't really a controversy, it is just that for some reason the Idiots running Bianchi in the late '90s early 2000s as Reparto Corse bikes. that would be akin to every Shwinn having a Paramount logo or every Chevy having a Caddillac hood ornament. so everyone selling any late '90s Bianchi touts that it is a RC bike when in fact it is regular 'off the shelf' model.

post some good pics and I will see if I can track it down in my catalogs

Bianchi SL Lite

Hi all,
I am pretty new to this forum but was wondering if anyone could help me trace the year of my Bianchi....it is a silver Bianchi SL Lite. It was broken down when I purchased it but it had a Campy Chorus Crankset, I am including a photo of the completed rebuild. I would really appreciate the Catalogue and specs of this outstanding road bike.
