1971 Raleigh Sports, whats it worth?

I have a 71 Raleigh Sports I want to sell. I had this bike for about 6 months, the coffee color paint still looks like new and all chrome looks brite and real nice, I paid $90 for it, its all original with 3 speed sturmey archer and original seat bag. The bike is beautiful, I flipped the handle bars upside down so it looks like a path racer style bike.I want to sell it because its just a heavy 3 speed bike and where I live there are steep hills everywhere, basically riding this bike will wear you out. So my question is, how much should I sell this bike for? I dont think the tires are original but there yellow gum wall and still look nice.

HTFU and build some leg muscles.

I personally think it will sell better if you flip the handlebars back to normal. What you paid for it is probably about what it's worth... maybe a little more. Try asking $150.

+1 on flipping the bars back. My LBS sells a bike like that for $200 with new tires, tuneup and 30 days maintenance. So deduct $20 for somebody having to hunt you down on CR, $30 for the the tuneup, $60 for the tires and tubes, and you get... $90. Of course, I paind $120 for one last week because I was sick of looking for a black 23" and finding nothing but 21s.

I sold the bike today for $150. I left the handle bars flipped called it a path racer and a college guy came to look at it and basically fell in love with it. he said he's gonna make it a fixed gear bike with velocity deep v's.

Sacralige, I would have slapped that hipster back to school If he told me he was going to wreck a perfectly good Raleigh. According to Wahoonc those bikes bring good money in NC.
