    Softride Beam kit

What would I get if I parted this out? Trying to decide if I should snag this from a pawn shop. 1995-ish Trek 930 with a Softride beam added and a Softride suspension stem. The beam seems to be in great shape aside from a little rust on the mounting hardware. The stem won't move but probably just needs a clean and lube job. The bike is nothing special, just a worn STX group.

part out the whole bike or just the goofy beam? those were nice bikes in the day. unless you can recoup your investment selling the bike whole, sans beam, I would stay away

I see your point. Wasn't sure if it was a cult item or not.

I don't know, you might get something decent for it, here's just the stem that went on ebay for $50. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Vintage-Softride-...item20b8e522f6

    More completed listings: http://completed.shop.ebay.com/i.htm..._ipg=50&_rdc=1

They are pretty neat and I would want it if it was cheap enough but I have a thing for my teenage years dream bike parts lol.

Because the weight is distributed. It's science!

Kind of hard to see but there is a triangulated brace attached to the down tube. Also comes with a nice plug to finish off the seat tube.
