How much for a 1972 Grand Prix ??

hey guys
Iam looking at selling my Raleigh Grand Prix dated 1972 i think . it is a 21 1/2 inch frame in black and white it has tru-wel steel and is made by Worksop Race Charlton . Iam keeping the Wright Saddle and have replaced it with a plain saddle . so what is a fair asking price ?? thanks and here are some pics .

In my market (Mid-West), tuned with good tires $125. More if you leave the saddle. I looked at the specs on Sheldon Brown and yours looks original.

Here is a '77 on CL that I am going to try and pick up for $50 today.

I would say , fully tuned up, not more than $100. However, I have seen bikes of this vintage listed here in New England, recently, from $150 to $275. I cannot figure out either prices, because I think they are absolutely nuts.

you did not see the time and effort that went into making a $20 bike look like this.

I just sold this 1973 for $180.00 and I'm quite sure I could have gotten more if I'd been patient.

I think he got it like that, and not only that I do my own work so it's not worth anything to me really. Honestly working on bikes is almost as fun to me as riding them. It's only fun when you pay next to nothing.

the reason I am asking 100.00 $ is this bike is nice it a has stronglight crank, it had all the R screw caps . it has wienmann brake set . and made in France pedals that look very high end. it is a Race Carlton worksop bike with stickers. its a spagetti line grand prix decal . 1972-73 . the rims are Sturmey archer and the hubs are Normandy . the reason the low price is i am keeping the wright seat . am i asking to much ???

I like it, but without the saddle $100 would be a stretch. The paintwork looks kinda patchy, decals rubbed and missing, etc.

Like I say, I like it, but this bike is not perfect and in today's market even a pristine 1970s Grand Prix goes for under $200. Having said that, I'm sure you'll find someone who will be willing to drop $100 for it.

If it's freshly greased and ready to ride (besides the saddle) I'd say it's easily worth $100.00.

Slap a $20.00 saddle on it and it's worth well over $100.00.
