1986 Kestrel 4000 - What is it worth?

    Hi everyone,

I've got my hands on a 1986 Kestrel 4000 and I'm trying to figure out its value. It isn't in mint condition, but the frame and fork are solid for sure. I have the original gum rubber tires, and this is the race-ready model with the modular brakes and the awesome original Dura-Ace pedals.

I've had a hard time finding information about it- do you know what it is worth? Any help is deeply appreciated.

Hi, I know you posted once, about 4 years ago, but I just want to say this bike is so, so beautiful, and if you still own it and would consider parting with it I would like to make you an offer!
I hope this message makes it to you somehow.

Beautiful Kestrel 4k. I had the same bike a few years ago and was fantastic to ride, and received multitudes of complements from other riders and people on the street. I would estimate the value with the Campagnolo Delta brake between $1000 to $1200 by parting out on Ebay and maybe more if going International. Locally through Craigslist would be half unless there's a collector willing to pay more. Make sure that there's no stress cracks, especially by the seat post clamp (a problem due to over tightening the clamp). With a mix of Shimano and Campagnolo parts lowers the overall value.

I'd guess about $1,200, to the right buyer.
