Nishiki Model and Value?
Hi! Im in the market for a road bike and came across an old nishiki currently for sale. There's not much information on it as the seller doesn't seem to know much about it. I'm hoping someone can help me out!
What is the model and components that are on this bike? Also, what do you think this is worth? Thanks!

Without at least one drive-side pic, we're just guessing at components.
But one thing tells me this is a fairly low-end bike: brake lever extensions, sometimes called "turkey levers," sometimes called "suicide levers." Very few mid- to high-quality bikes had these, even back in the day.
I'm guessing mid to late 70's for age. At least it has a cotterless crank instead of the cottered cranks found so commonly found on early to mid-70's bike boom era bikes.

Not without more info. If it were completely ready to go, freshly tuned, needed parts replaced, cleaned and completely regreased, then $100 would not be out of line for a low-end 70's Nishiki. But in as-is condition, I wouldn't want to spend more than $50 because it would probably need a lot of work. Once I was done with it, maybe $125 tops around here. I think you can do better if you're patient.

The bike looks to be a low end model from 80-82, which was when they still had the 70's style paint and decals and cheaper side pull brakes, probably a Custom Sport or Olympic which were there best selling models. In good working order basically needs no work other than minor servicing $100 is a OK price. These typically go for $75 in as is might need some work condition and $150 or so fully serviced ready to ride with some new consumables.

A lot of time, it's what the market dictates,
Safety Levers, Stem Mounted Shifters, this Nishiki in Seattle is asking $150.

Looking around, it almost looks like once you have a bike with "quality"; all of a sudden, they are asking $200 or more.
Asking $125: https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bik/5531453175.html
Asking $80: https://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/bik/5529404938.html
At the least, this Nishiki Competition: asking $350, has the gold bands on the seat tube and is a similar color. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bik/5491139403.html
As said, better views are needed.
I can't tell if the bike in post #1 has shifting on the downtube or handlebar stem.
Of course, the same bike can be selling for wildly different pricing on the same Craig's list.

Regardless, of the model, this bicycle is almost certainly too small for the OP, given that he has stated in previous posts that he is 5'11".
