Selling my vintage 1988 Miyata 1200
Hello.
I am interested in selling my brothers attempt at a single speed (and giving up) conversion on a beautiful 1988 miyata, and wondering how much to sell for, or not to bother if its scrap.
It has been stripped of all gear parts, derailleurs ect. The frame/paint work is in great condition, obviously is used but good for a 20 year old bike.
Minor issue with the frame is a split seatpost but could easily be fixed with some arygyte from your local DIY store.
Just wondering for a general price on what it'd be worth as is (it rides but is dodgy) or sell it as the frame and keep parts. Thanks

pictures are really required, and vintage aluminum frames have minimal value. Need to put the bike back together to get real money for it.
I don't understand the damage, in general, if it is an easy fix, you need to fix it before selling it. Easy fix = no sale (buyers have no imagination, and don't believe it).

the frame has minimal value with any damage.. i would just part out the bike or keep the parts and sell the frame for whatever you could get
a pic of the damage would be good

Agree with what people are saying here. If the damage is truly minimal, get it fixed. Put the original components you have back on it, and you'll greatly up the price. Otherwise, just part it out, and give the frame to me....

Hmm. 20+ year-old bike, no components, "split seat post",,,,with that description and no pics, I'd go as high as $30.00 ( I'd rather keep trolling boards and the 'bay looking for a vintage Miyata that had more potential).
