Specialized Sirrus Sport-Convert to drop bars

**I'm an idiot and meant to post this over in mechanics. Feel free to ignore**

I have a relatively new (2010) Sirrus Sport. I personally love the bike, but I was planning on converting it over to drop bars. I wanted to know if this shifter would work:

http://www.amazon.com/Shimano-SL-BS6...8007651&sr=1-1

Thanks so much.

EDIT-I believe what's on there right now is the Shimano 2200 shifters, but I'm not entirely sure

well the shifters in the link are 8spd. if your bike has an 8spd cassette it should work. if you have 9 or 10 spds you need 9 or 10spd shifters

PS the current Sirrus Sport is 8spd so yes those shifters should work.

that bike is very new for the C&V forums, you really should have posted this in the Mechanics forums

what brake levers are you using?

Maybe I should explain why I feel as though there is a question here....

The shifters say "BS79 shifters only compatible with Dura-Ace 7900 front derailleur due to revised cable pull actuation." However this person:

Seems to have converted using the bar ends. I'm more wondering if the description is correct, or if they just say that.

Edit-wow, I didn't even mean to post this to vintage, completely my bad
