I have recently purchased a vintage Bianchi, Celeste, columbus tubing, made in Italy sticker. I was told it was a 1984 but now I'm not so sure. Everything on the bike is Compagnalo even the brake pads, Mavic module e rims, wobbler original tires I believe. I can only find one number on the frame that's remotely close to a serial # but it seems wrong. The serial I can find on the bottom bracket is A.935 which seems short. Also it's all the way on the bottom instead of where they usually are. I have seen many similar bikes to mine but none exact and also the fork seems different then most frames that look similar. Instead of having a more boxy, angular fork with a big "B" on both sides I have a slightly more rounded (still lugged) with a small side triangle and the whole word "Bianchi" in a 3/4 circle on both sides. I will post pics if anyone can help me later on. If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it, I definitely overpaid for this bike I think lol.

what kind of Columbus tubing? Bianchi Special? it looks like a '85 Vittoria model with a complete (although the brake levers look like Triomphe w/ NR style hoods) group.



if it fits you it should be a great riding bike.

after researching as much as I could on my own the closest looking frame/fork I could find was a 1983 Super Record selling on ebay. The fork is identical and the frame looks identical to mine, a few parts look different like mine has camp cranks and all camp parts. Here's a link to the only bike that I can find that resembles mine. As for the tubing the sticker says, "Tubi Rinforzati Bianchi Special cromo molibdeno PRODUZIONE COLUMBUS" and that's on the frame, the sticker on the fork says, "Foderi Forcella Bianchi Special Columbus." The only differences I really see between my bike and this Super Record 1983 on ebay is the seat post, cranks, shifters (although both are campagnalo) and the brake levers.

So do you want me to tell you that your bike is a Super Record worth $2500? IMHO the bike on ebay is way over priced, and unless Bianchi introduced that fork crown style, the Special Columbus tubing and that style decal for the top two bikes, the ebay bike is a '85. for 2500 that bike could use a bit more detailing and new brake blocks.

to the very best of my knowledge looking through the American market catalogues your bike is a dead ringer, except for the brake hoods, for a 1985 Vittoria model with a full Campagnolo Victory (again I am not sure of the levers) group

Hahaha, no I don't want you to tell me anything but the truth, I could really care less about how much my bike is worth, hopefully it's worth the $500 I paid for it but other than that I bought it to ride it. I've checked Bulgier and found nothing similar and I checked craigslist and ebay for reference only. Out of every picture I've looked at the only one that I've seen with the same (fork/frame) sizing, color, stickers, lugging etc is this Super Record. I believe my bike was made in Italy (made in Italy sticker) and based on my limited knowledge on this matter and what I've been told it would not be in an american catalogue. I would trust you more than those I've spoken to previously though. Can you direct me to a link of this American market literature? I still don't understand why the abreviated serial as well, A.935 is unlike any other serial I've seen on a Bianchi. Is the Vittoria a good bike? was it top of the line, middle of the road? I just want to get all the info I can on my bike so I know. Thanks so much for your time Bianchigirll

the Vittoria was a very upperend bike just 3 from the top (discounting the Centenario) and shocased the new Victory group. the two bikes above had NR and SR. in its day it would have benn at home in any peleton in North America. 500 may be a tad high, but if you bought it as a rider and are happy it was money more than well spent.

I am not sure just what rhyme or reason Bianchi used for their serial nmbers, but since that tubing was new that year I would not be suprised to see an odd number.

Thanks for the info Do you happen to know where I can find the specs/stats of my bike? Like the catalog you spoke of. On Bulgier it doesn't list the Vittoria for 1985. I want to know every detail about my bike lol

Is there anyone who can give me a link to Bianchi catalogs? Seems like the only ones I've found is Bulgier and they do not have complete catalogs and I still can't seem to get concrete information regarding my bike. If anyone has a link to a website or knows a way I can get this info I'd greatly appreciate it. I've searched google extensively and can't seem to get the info I need. Maybe someone knows of a bike store that may have info or a very knowledgeable person who can link me to the info. I've tried Bianchi directly but have only received a generic response. I'm still not 100% sure what I've got and still can't find any pics or info that can tell me unequivocally and give me the stats and tech I need. Thx

You know what.. I just realized something... you do not have a Vittoria. the brakes {which is why I thought the levers were odd for Victory** and rims tipped me off while I was scanning the catalog pages. your bike is actually a Veloce and is equipped with a Campagnolo Triomphe ( Victory's younger and cheaper brother) group. the Veloce is 2 models below the Vittoria so 5 models from the top.



Bianchi seems to use the nonceleste color in the catalog for alot of bikes

the undrilled brake levers with tan hoods and the hollow capnut on the calipers were the tip off that the group was Triomphe and not the higher grade Victory

Thanks you so much, I am indebted to you Thank you for scanning the catalog, I finally know what I've got and I absolutely love it I think the frame is too big for me which would really suck, I might have to look for a Veloce frame in a smaller size but the bike is mint and I can't thank you enough
