Bianchi Rekord 745
Here's a Bianchi Rekord 745 that was part of a "package deal". It is in very rough shape, but no dents, bends and rust is only superficial. The components are a strange mishmash as you can see.
What's the value 'as is' (or frame only)?
What to do about the rust?
All pictures here
Thanks!

That rear D was definitely a spare-part-fix-it-quick situation.
Suntour blaze would be found on lower-end cannondales and the like from the late 80's/early 90s.
I think that's a pretty sweet bike, though. Might be a nice resto project.

The rust can be dealt with pretty easily by soaking paper towels in vinegar and wrapping them around the frame where the rust is and then wrapping that in basic kitchen plastic wrap and letting the acid in the vinegar eat and neutralize the rust, works great.

it looks nice and very interesting. that DA derailleur has to go! a Velox or Valentino would be better than that LOL! if it came in a package deal give it a good cleaning and list if for sale for a few scheckles. people are always looking for old Celeste Bianchis. if it was a 59 and closer I would be interested but shipping has to be a small fortune for a whole bike.

Thanks everybody for your input. Nobody wants to risk defining " a few scheckles"?

is that a bag bracket of some kind on the bars? if it was in my area i would give about $150 - 200 for it as it needs cleaning and overhauling as it sits. it is all GipMe and Ofmega right?

That is indeed a bag carrier! The guy I bought this from used it to go to the local village and do some shopping.
Gipiemme brakes, Ofmega cranks and hubs, Shimano headset.
Over here it is worth 0 unless I make a fixie out of it... I won't.
