I'm looking for a 50cm frame to build my friend a single speed... I found this one... but I feel the price is too high and seller will not negotiate. What do you think its worth

I am sorry, but I am firm with my asking price. Quality road bike frames with horizontal dropouts (e.g., suitable for use as fixies) are fairly rare. When aluminum and then carbon frames took over the bulk of the US market in the 90's, horizontal dropouts vanished, for the most part (-except on custom frames and imports from boutique European marques.) Thus, I'm firm on the price due to the rarity of 50 cm frames, combined with the rarity of horizontal dropouts."

Seems a little pricey, but you could Ebay the cranks, derailleurs and shifters. That would offset well over half of the cost, that's also a pain in the butt.

I was thinking about that but ebay is a pain... If the seller would go $75 for I do it. But I find great deals on bikes all the time for complete bikes for under $100. Just hard to find a 50cm frame. I replied asking if they were interested in any trades... that might help aquire the bike.

Pick it up - Giants in that vintage are rare to say the least.

I really don't think its worth $125... I think the highest I would go would be $75. I'm betting that it will not sell very quickly since people around hear do not like to buy bikes that need work... or if they do they are like me and want a good deal for all the effort and money they will have to put into the bike to build / restore it.

At $125... I would be putting way more into the bike than it would be worth in the end.

Depends how bad you want it. Seller could hold on to it for a while. Finding XS bikes is difficult, looks to be a pretty good one. Not worth the asking price, but that does not mean he will go lower. Some sellers can be stubborn for a long, long time.

I was waiting for wrk101 to chim in...

I"m going to be patient... the bike is not for me and I have other small frame options for a single speed to build for my friend... the giant is just a nicer frame compared with a peugeot and ross in 50cm I have already. I'm going to keep my eye on it and check back with the seller next week. If the bike had wheels I would be willing to pay the asking price but $125 is too much... I'm thinking $50 to $75 at most.
