Need new bike, what do you think of these

My old bike exploded on me and it's not worth fixing so I'm looking to buy a new one to get around the city. Something cheap and fast that'll last me for years.

Sadly, I don't know anything and don't want to get screwed.

Looking at these:

Assuming they fit me, any good deals here?

if it fits you the Medalist is the best looking of the bunch. offer him 180 for it but be prepared to spend 200.

I think the Medalist is you best choice if the size is OK for you of course

The "Medalist" is the Canadian version of the Walmart Denali.

So if that is what you want, just go to Walmart and get a new one.

Don't know anything = good chance you will get screwed.

So I would spend a little time surfing the web to get educated on values.

Pretty much anywhere, the good deals sell fast to knowledgable buyers, leaving the average deals and the ripoffs for everyone else.

Thanks for the input so far.

I see those sell new for 160$. Sure looks better and more comfortable than the vintage ones.
But are they reliable or just pieces of crap waiting to fall apart and kill me when I'm going down a hill at 30+mph?

What should I look for if buying a vintage bike for functionality? I need it in a hurry here and I'm on foot so I can't hop around the city trying things out for weeks / days.
