Can you Id my Bianchi ?!
I picked this bike up off a guy in Toronto earlier this summer. Im loving the bike but would like to know something about the model. I was told it could be a mid to late 80's city bike of sorts. I'm trying to find out what the frame is possibly made of. I know its not beyond an entry level Bianchi, but Im curious to know what the frame is made out of. I'm assuming it is Japanese as well.
Here is a pic with the original decals

Not a city bike at all. Someone added the flat bars. Its a recreational level racing bike.

^ ^^, I agree on both counts
Welcome to the forums Cory, we will try and help best we can. OK first can you post better pics? does the frame actually have Bianchi stamped on it? what are the names on the components especially the cranks and headset ( the silver bearing cups where the fork passes through the frame)
close ups of things like the headset, cranks, seatlug area, and dropouts will help.
judging from the color i would say this is a '83ish something

I actually believe it came with the city bars. It's only a 6 speed as well ( single chain ring and 1 downtube shifter ). It doesn't have any Bianchi stamps, however the frame looks identical to a Piaggio I picked up last week.
Here is a pic ( that I came across ) of what looks to be the female version. Same bars, Ambrosio rims, Dia Compe levers, Sugino crankset. It looks like it has the Piaggio logo toward the top of the seat tube. Were all Piaggios made of the same frame material ?

they are both great looking bikes, but I can't really pin down a year or model. the Canadain and US bikes were different up until I think '87 or 88 when Canadain distrubution was taken over by Bianchi USA.
I still think is dates from around '83 or so judging from the decal style. it must be some sort of Urban or City bike for the hybrid idea took off. Bianchi did list a flat bared touring bike here for a few years but it had double chainwheels.
