eBay Bianchi Question.

I am wondering if anyone can take a look at this link and tell me if this Bianchi is worth bidding on.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ht_2078wt_1353

Looks good and has Campagnolo components. Two things that I'm questioning are the highly visible (one corner is even raised) decal edges and the fact that it's not a lugged frame.

Seller has exactly ZERO feedback on sales, and a grand total of TWO feedbacks on purchases. Unless you are local (and can inspect in person), I would pass.

Bike is 12 years old, and the bidding is approaching half of what it originally sold for, with four days left.

I agree I am not certain I would bid on it. it looks like a nice bike but getting pricy.

Free shipping but professionally packed? Seems odd... that's like $100 at least. There is not much danger for buyers on ebay if it turns out to be a scam, just a big hassle more than anything. Eh maybe they work in a bike shop.

I am thinking the starting price was very high and the seller is including the shipping in that first $450

Thanks for the input, folks.

Seems like the general consensus is that it's not a knock-off but still a bit expensive for its age? I haven't decided whether to bid or not but you have certainly helped me feel a bit more informed.

Components: certainly nothing wrong with Mirage, but it's low on the Campy food chain. Veloce would be better, and if the bike had Daytona or higher I'd say the auction still had room to run.

Also for future repair, (or upgrading if that's a consideration), Campy changed their shift system slightly in '01, so you'll need to get versed in the differences if either the rear shifter or rear derailleur need replacement.
