For Richmond, that bike in cleaned-up shape would sell for $125.00. That's Richmond. I have no doubt that San Diego will be more expensive, probably $50-75.00 more expensive. Based on that guess, $140.00 doesn't seem too unreasonable (see if you can get him down to around $125.00) in what I'm assuming from the pictures as somewhat dirty, complete, and rideable as-is - but needs work to be worthwhile. The Accordo, for the low end bike, is a very nice rider. I built my singlespeed/fixie around a frameset, and am very happy with it.

And yeah, you should have put this in the appraisals forum.

Accordo specs changed pretty much every year. I have owned several of them. Some were pretty decent, some average, some not so hot. For some reason, the pictures aren't showing up on my end. The better one I had, I sold for over $200, in perfect, ready to ride condition. That's here in Hooterville. Add a nice premium for CA.

Rust on rims? Sounds like steel wheels in that case. All of the ones I had aluminum rims.

Steel rims? Rust? Doesn't sound so good. At the same time, without pics, no idea. Certainly, $140 is pretty low for San Diego.

I had one of the those and sold it in San Diego (after cleaning it up, polishing it, greasing the bearings) for $160 or so a couple of years ago. It was Tange Champion tubing, and was at best a mid to low-grade bike in component quality. It did however, ride very nice. If you are a fixer it could be a nice bike for you, and that price isn't bad these days in the San Diego market.

Given the pictures I saw, bike is very dirty and needs a thorough service. If you have the tools/time/aptitude/space to do the work, its worth it. If you have to pay a shop to do the work, keep looking.
