    Help Identify this frameset!

Any idea what frameset this is or was? It looks like it was repainted just like a Centurion Ironman (posted below it).

Also, what's it worth to you? Obviously the value is in the C-record components more than the frame. I've been told it's pretty much all c-record including: headset, hubs, crank, shifers, derailleurs, brakes/levers etc. Thanks for the help!

Swing and a miss! I do love the color. OK Irvi you have been around long enough to to know we C&Vers need a bit more than that to go on. how about a good profile shot, close ups of the jounts, underside of the BB shell, and is there any writing on the dropouts? what size is the seat post? 27.7? 26.8? bottom bracket theading. did you check the seattube and steerer for SLX helociols or 'rifling'?

It looks like a real nice bike but who knows. did it come to you with all that Corse Record stuff on it?

OH OK the profile pic was not open on my first scroll down. Basso?

It seems to have the same seat cluster lug as my Paramount, with the long vertical points and the integrated nut in the collar.

But I don't know of any Paramounts with spooned seat stay caps or single loop cable guides.

It's hard to tell from the pics but based on the paint scheme if original and lugs it appears to be a mid to late 80's Miyata or Cetnrurion.

Just got the bike, serial # is 8753250

Bike has Campagnolo Drop outs and fork ends and the BB is English threaded (1.37)

I was told the group is original to the bike. seatpost is not c-record.

Close up pictures will be uploaded later today.

The seatpost is 27.2, how do I check for "SLX helociols or 'rifling'"?

The "nail" pump peg has me wondering if it is a repaint. At first glance I thought Serotta from the 80's.

Open the BB and stick your finger in the seattube. You should feel ridges. Same with the fork steer from the bottom end.

Does that mean I need to remove the BB and reach upward? If yes I will do so after a quick initial ride.

    Some more info:
There are some paint chips on the purple paint and underneath is yellow paint so that may have been the original color (or it was a two layer paint job)
The saddle is a san marco 1986 world championship, which may indicate the year.

Still trying to figure out the frameset, anyone?

The bike feels pretty lightweight, lighter than my 3rensho for sure.
Heres a Component list (to my knowledge) if it helps. Links are to Velospace not pics.

Crankset: Campagnolo C-Record (1st Gen; Engraved) LINK
Bottom Bracket: Campagnolo C-Record or Record English 1.37x24
Campagnolo Titanium 6 Speed Freewheel (I hear this one goes for quite a bit) LINK

DT Shifters C-Record Syncro 6spd LINK
Rear Derailleur: Campagnolo C-record (1st Gen) LINK
Front Derailleur: Campagnolo C-Record Clamp On LINK
    Brakeset: Campagnolo Delta C-Record LINK
Brake Levers: Campagnolo C-Record Aero LINK
    Headset: Campagnolo C-Record LINK
    Pedals: Campagnolo C-Record LINK
    Straps: Binda

    Hubs: Campagnolo C-Record 24H LINK
Rims: Velocity Aerohead (not original to the bike)
    Skewers: RT? Rear, HED Front

    Stem: Cinelli 1A LINK
    Bars: Cinelli Criterium 65-40 LINK
Saddle: San Marco Rolls 1986 UCI World championship edition LINK
    Seatpost: Unknown 27.2

I never saw your pics last night, since you tricked us but it does not matter I have no idea.

whatever it is it seems to be a nice frame and the components are top notch. I agree that it is certainly a repait of something. the big problem aside from the 'nail' pumpeg as someone called it there is nothing remarkable about the frame. the only clue to ID seems to be the way the serial number is curved around the lugg.

OH two more things, you know those are single key releases/extractors in the cranks right? I would squirt a little tryflow or remmington oil (no WD40 in this house cold war is over) and let it seep for a bit before removing them. us a good wrench with nice sharp corners. there is a special tool for removing the extractors if you need to and I think they are left hand thread.

you need a 3.5mm wrench for adjusting the Deltas. I recomend getting them at Sears buy atleast 2. don't be afraid of the Deltas they take some patience to setup and once done well are good stoppers. they don't stop on a dime like modern DP brakes but these are pro level brakes and they still do a good job. and beside with all that Campi bling you look good hitting that car door.

this is susposded to be a good site for all you ever wanted to know about your Deltas

Thanks for the help, I did know about the crank bolts and their odd 7mm size as I've dealt with them once before. I did not know that there was so much work involved with the deltas and I certainly do not have a 3.5mm wrench. I started reading up on deltas and they are quite confusing. I might hand the bike off to my trusty mechanic to get the brakeset out of there.

Since the frame is seemingly unknown and just a cm or two big for me, I will likely strip down the components in a week or so and patiently wait for the right frame to come along.
